The Illustrated Guide to Building a High Torque Sx2L CNC Milling Machine

What is "Building the KRmc01 CNC Milling Machine"?

It's a workbook that takes you step-by-step through the process of building your very own high torque CNC Milling Machine. As a bonus by purchasing the workbook edition from this site, you gain access to our KRmc01 private forums.

There is no fabrication involved with the KRmc01 CNC. The build starts you out by having you purchase a LittleMachineShop 3990 milling machine. You then are then directed to purchase a specific ballscrew kit, and electronics kit. We have worked with the manufactures to ensure these are proper fits for this build. We chose the best in class for all the major components.

The book includes a complete breakdown of all the components you need to purchase. The listings are complete with links to the manufactures. Where appropriate, alternates are provided.

Once you have the major components, the book takes you step by step through the conversion process. The book shows you what to look for and how to test fit where needed. The complete build can be accomplished in just a few days.

The book does not stop with the conversion process. It takes you through the setup, configuration, testing, and operation of the machine.

What can you make with the KRmc01 CNC Milling Machine?

I sell a Z-plate for the KRMx02 CNC that's made with the KRmc01 CNC Milling Machine.

What about the cost to build the KRmc01 CNC Milling Machine?

I selected only the best componets for the KRmc01 mill.

The estimated cost to build the KRmc01 is around $2200. This includes the 3990 Mill , Ballscrew conversion kit, NEMA 23 motors, controller, power supply and hookup cables and a Mach 3 license. Keep this in mind as many other builds do not include these items in their estimates.

One reason I chose the LMS 3990, is that it is the best mill in its class. It has a thicker column, powerfull belt driven brushless motor. Nothing comes close.
