Working With Aluminum #9

Testing a single flute bit

  • Tool: 1/8" Up Cut Single Flute
  • Stock: 1/16" thick 6061 Aluminum
  • Lubrication: Trend Tool and Bit Cleaner

I have some O-Flute bits that I purchased off Amazon a little while back.  They work pretty good on hard plastics, so I thought I would give them a try on aluminum.

While I don't think they are true O-Flute bits, they do have much the same shape as other O-Flute bits I have used.

Here are the tests

While the bit did work ok with aluminum, I don't feel its up to the Onsrud 63-610 1/8" bit that I will be writing up soon.
